I enjoyed this book so much, especially Lou Epps. If you have to be haunted, Lou is the ghost to do it.

This book has it all. Detectives, mysteries, amateur sleuths, and ghosts, all under the roof of a derelict boarding house. And one of the ghosts is a detective!

From abused child and underdog, Dash Coffin grows up to be a hero. This story had plenty of warmth and love, but it also showed the cruelty many children experience at no fault of their own. When given a magical gift, Dash makes the most of it, helping others as she grows into helping herself. Great story.

I enjoyed this "sorta" coming of age story. Tabitha learns to stand on her own, but accept help from her friends when she needs to. She also comes to recognize she's not a coward, and that it's alright to be afraid when she needs to. I'll read the next one.
